LargeQueso (Gengar) (M) @ Focus Sash
IVs: 31 Spe
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Ability: Levitate
Hasty Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sucker Punch
- Destiny Bond
- Counter
(Countergar is only obtainable via Emerald/FRLG Move Tutor) The piece de resistance of the team, Countergar is the lead that makes all of this possible. Also, Countergar's speed stat is basically the most important single stat on your entire team, period. Make sure the Countergar you breed has a perfect Speed IV or you risk losing a LOT of important speed ties. You run hasty for more counter damage and because you don't want to lower your attack for sucker punch's sake. The goal with this team is to use Gengar's life to take out 2 enemy pokemon, and then have froslass Dbond the 3rd mon on the opponent's team for a clean victory. The bread and butter strat is; If you see a physical mon lead, counter it, and then dbond with Gengar on turn 2 to kill the second mon. If you see a special mon, kill it with shadow ball (and/or sucker punch turn 2 if it speed ties with or outspeeds you) and then dbond the second mon. The name of the game is to preserve gengar's life/sash so you can accomplish this, and that involves knowing what you can outright oneshot with 1-2 shadow balls (or a shadow ball + sucker punch combo), what mons to counter, and what mons you're better off switching to Froslass or your sturdy mon for. If metagross (or another mon with priority) is the enemy lead, you can just counter it for the kill. However, if Meta (or another priority mon) is mon two, you need to swap out to your sturdy mon to counter it to death, since Meta will almost always have bullet punch to kill your 1 HP gengar. Even keeping Gengar alive for fodder is massively useful, as it lets you kill something with your sturdy mons' counter, AND another thing with Froslass's dbond, and because gengar is still alive, you'll win the match after Froslass's dbond goes off and won't end with a tie (which results in you losing). If you see another countergar as the lead, congrats, you now have a 90% chance to win the match since you're 100% getting a free first kill with Gengar. If you see countergar, simply shadow ball turn 1 and trade sashes, and sucker punch turn 2. The AI will never go for sucker punch with their gengar for some reason (even if they have it) and you'll always get the first free kill so you can dbond mon 2. If you see a ninjask, it's gonna be a hackmon, so use shadow ball + sucker punch on turns 1 and 2, respectively, for a free kill as they either sheer cold into your sash or gastro acid you. ;) If you see a Weavile lead, counter it down to the sash, swap to froslass to tank the incoming ice shard, and then ice shard or sucker punch it for the kill.

Countess (Froslass) (F) @ Kasib Berry
EVs: 194 Atk / 64 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Snow Cloak
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Ice Shard
- Destiny Bond
- Ice Beam
Yes we run this weird ass set, it's hilariously optimal. Gengar and Froslass are tied as the two fastest Dbonders in the game (at base 110 speed, as fast as Latios), hence the reason we use both on our squad to cheese 95% of the tower. The EV spread is VERY important, with it you basically always kill Gengar with Sucker Punch + Ice Shard (though most of the time you can just use two suckers). The 64 defense is important since it lets you ALWAYS survive a Life Orb Metagross Bullet Punch from full health, unless it crits of course. This lets you not have to run babiri berry, allowing you to instead run Kasib berry to deal with shadow balls from enemy gengar/froslass (or shadow sneak from the occasional hackmon) to get up your destiny bond safely. Also, yes, Jolly nature with ice beam is very intentional. You NEED to be max speed and don't want to lower your defenses with Hasty/Naive, and the Spatk drop doesn't really affect ice beam in any meaningful way. Ice beam still OHKOs non-yache Garchomp and other 4x ice weak pokemon, and also provides great coverage against other important ice weak mons like Zapdos. Sucker punch is your main attack against fast psychics like Latios and Starmie, as well as against other ghosts like Gengar and Froslass. Ice shard is there for a stab physical move to help you finish stuff off. Special thanks to RJ for accidentally discovering the basis for this set back in 2021.

DuPont (Skarmory) (M) @ Lum Berry
IVs: 31 Spe
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SpD / 220 Spe
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 50
Careful/Calm Nature
- Taunt
- Roost
- Counter
- Toxic
(Counterskarm is only obtainable via Emerald/FRLG Move Tutor). This is the ultimate defensive anchor mon for the WiFi tower, and is truly in a league of its own (Also, this is the mon you'd swap your RM for once you reach Rank 4). Skarm needs to have a max speed IV to ensure you outspeed as many things as possible (such as hackmon Machamp) to ruin them with taunt. The speed EVs are not a typo, this mon's speed is its greatest strength, allowing it to outspeed and taunt the vast majority of mons, completely ruining them. This allows you to safely toxic and/or counter them to death, while easily surviving forever via roost recovery. This set takes many of the strengths held by Bastiodon and Gastrodon and puts them into one pokemon with an insane defensive typing and bulk! Not only that, but the Lum Berry is incredible in allowing you to wake up instantly on a spore mon just so you can taunt them and shut them down after the fact! This set can handle all physical attackers, wonder guard mons, setup/support hackmons, OHKO mons, AND Huge Power Regigigas (if you're at close to full health). The only mon that can oneshot you is Fire Punch Huge Power Regigigas, but most don't run FP and instead run Close Combat, which does around 85% or so, allowing you to dumpster them with a counter. You completely destroy Crocune with taunt + toxic, as you prevent it from setting up and can easily roost off its surfs. Max speed suicune can outspeed and set up before you can taunt, but I have yet to see a max speed suicune in the WiFi tower, so it's really a nonissue lol. Special thanks to Bloomer for coming up with this madlad set at 4AM lmao.

ALTERNATIVES TO COUNTERSKARM: (Skarm is WAAAY better though, only use these if you literally cannot breed a Counterskarm in Gen 3; it's absolutely worth it!) (This broken image next to the "Alternatives" is supposed to be there as a divider btw.)
THE AEGIS (Bastiodon) (M) @ Shuca Berry
IVs: 0 Atk
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 100 SpD / 46 Spe
Ability: Sturdy
Bold Nature
- Metal Burst
- Counter
- Toxic
- Taunt
Bastiodon finally has its time to shine! Metal Burst + Counter lets you kill both special and physical mons, respectively. You run just enough speed to outspeed and shut down enemy Spiritombs and other slower mons with taunt. This mon is hilariously fat and can live a lot of punishment, and can even survive a garchomp EQ to kill in return with counter. Aggron can work here too with seismic toss over Counter, but I tended to like Bastiodon more for its better special bulk. Its main weakness is the fact that it's super weak to fighting moves, its defensive typing is really bad unfort. Despite this however, the mon is jacked and can live forever and murder its foes in return, and is an immensely solid pick overall. (Courtesy of Kstie, thanks again bby)

THE NUT (Forretress) (M) @ Custap Berry
IVs: 0 Spe
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 210 Def / 42 SpD
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 50
Brave Nature
- Counter
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
- Protect
This mon was surprisingly actually good. Custap berry is a 9000IQ gigabrain item that lets forretress toxic something or break a sash with gyro ball on its last legs, and really adds a shit ton of extra value to it. It's hilariously fat and having a reliable move like gyro ball is super awesome to end matches more quickly. The custap berry is also available off the event Shiny Entei or the event Regigigas, both of which you can get via Mystery Gift while connected to Alt-WFC. (Courtesy of Shroomer, the fact this set works so well is still incredible lmao)
