yanmega is capable of dishing out incredible damage with its ability, tinted lens, and only extremely fat quad-resists to bug buzz like celesteela/tran (plus chansey of course) eat it well. ferro/pex are nearly 2hko'd, and offensive tran is 2hko'd by air slash. in short this bug can really put in some work given the proper support, which is exactly what this team aims to do. diancie is the 1st means of hazard control, providing rocks and magic bounce to patch up yanmega's quad-sr weakness. it checks many things that threaten yanmega such as zard y, volcarona, pinsir, torn. the next 3 members (ferro/zap/fini) form a very potent defensive core that checks almost every threat in the metagame, with zap providing an additional flying resist to check pinsir/hawlucha, fini pivoting into heatran, ferro dealing with electrics/psychics/fairies, etc. this core provides immense utility in double defog and spikes support. ferro is running knock off in the fourth moveslot because removing the leftovers of pex/ferro/tran/celesteela gives yanmega an easier time spamming its moves. lando was put in the final slot just for some speed control/volt switch immunity, and a pivot that lures in grass types which yanmega can take advantage of.
