Choice Band Excadrill swiftly deals with physical walls such as Slowbro and Ferrothorn for Ground teams! With Sand Rush, Excadrill wreaks havoc with Earthquake, while Iron Head deals with Tapu Bulu and Hydreigon which do not mind Earthquake. X-Scissor pressures Zarude and Slowbro which wall it. Rock Slide deals with Flying-types such as Mantine and Zapdos, which is important for teams not carrying Gravity, while Rapid Spin removes entry hazards in a pinch. Choice Band Excadrill is extremely threatening to types such as Poison, Flying, and Steel especially when paired with Gravity from Landorus, as this allows Excadrill to spam Earthquakes without hesitation, making it a great teammate for Excadrill. Hippowdon sets sandstorm to activate Excadrill's ability in Sand Rush, allowing Excadrill to outspeed and remove threats such as Choice Scarf Blacephalon and Greninja. Gastrodon provides a Water-type immunity, and can pivot into Barraskewda and Cinderace in a pinch. Alternatively, Seismitoad is a more offensively inclined Water immune partner as it outspeeds and removes Belly Drum Azumarill and heavily punishes Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Greninja and Choice Band Urshifu-R for locking into Ice Beam and Surging Strikes by setting up Substitute and pressuring Water teams with Power Whip and Earthquake. Mamoswine deals with Flying- and Dragon-types such as Landorus-T and Garchomp.
