This team is a sort of "update" on a Gen 5 Magic Sun style team I found on the forums, composed of Xatu, Ho-oh, Groudon, Genesect, Palkia and Arceus. The main inspiration for looking the magic sun style up was FSG's video on regular mons that were good in Ubers, specifically the segment on Espeon.Now the team explanation, starting with Koraidon, the clear best mon in the tier. Korai is our sun setter, and it's prevalence on the tier is good, because it means Sun will very, very frequently be up. Koraidon is like a perfect mix of the Genesect and Groudon that were present on the og team. It's a simple mon, it sets sun, hits hard and also pivots. Next is Walking Wake, with a very standard Protosynthesis Speed boost Specs set. Wake comes as the update to Palkia from the og team, it's the team's main answer to Kyogre, and imo, works much better than Palkia, because of it's fantastic sun synergy. Third is Lando-T, and it's kinf of the new face in the team, since Koraidon compressess two of the older team's slots in one. Lando sets rocks, pivots, and can also hit hard. It could have been a Helmet set instead of Scarf, but I find that due to Koraidon already being scarf, ppl tend to ignore the possibility of Lando also using that item, and the surprise outrun on zacian and eternatus is very valuable imo. Next is Espeon, which is the hazard debier for the team. The og team had Xatu, but since it's not in SV, we are using Espeon instead. U may think Hatterene is better, but espeon has some advantages. First, it's much faster, and it's speed helps it get the jump on bulky Eternatus and most if not all Arceus Forms. Despite having higher speed stats, there are no relevant mons in the 110 base speed tier, so they commonly EV below that. Psychic Noise is fantastic to make sure damage stays, Weather Ball comboes with Sun to allow Espeon to hit steels such as Zacian and Necro-DM, Grass Knot is another measure for Kyogre, since this team really appreciates sun being up, and yawn is good as a "no nonsense button", meaning Espeon can't be used as set up fodder. Sash is used to allow Espeon more turns. Next is the star of the team, CB Ho-oh. Originally, it was LO with Flame Charge, but I found that to use Flame Charge effectively, Ho-oh had to give up on the little bulk the offensive set commnly run in Gen 9 has, and I didn,t like that, so I changed it to CB, and it worked wonderfully. Ho-oh is EVed so it has 2 points taken from HP and put to speed, so it can outrun other offensive Ho-oh. Sacred Fire and Flare Blitz are absurd under sun, specially with Tera Fire, Brave Bird is no slouch either, and EQ is good coverage. Finally we have EKiller Arceus. It's moves are the same as the sample set, but I changed the item to Lum Berry to have some protection vs status, and switched the Tera to ghost, whilest also moving 2 points from HP to speed, just like with Ho-oh, so my Arceus can outrun and come out on top vs other Ekillers. tera ghost also helps to make the metchup vs Koraidon less one sided. Overall, this team operates at a breackneck pace, so step your foot on the gas and never let go from start to finish. Yes the team has 4 choiced mons, but the fact 3 of them can pivot makes it less of a detriment.
