---------------------
Overview: Togetic boasts very good defensive stats, allowing it to check a multitude of Pokemon in the tier such as Kadabra, Servine, Sliggoo, and Krokorok. Very little can boast OHKOing or even 2HKOing defensive spreads, barring strong super effective attacks. However, defensive sets are very passive and easy to exploit with setup. Offensive Togetic is a strong early-game wallbreaker but lacks the speed to be a cleaner.
---------------------
SpDef Defog: This specially defensive set is capable of walling and tanking hits from strong special attackers such as Choice Scarf Frogadier, Kadabra, Roselia, Servine, and Magmar. Dazzling Gleam provides a weak but adequate STAB attack which hits Dark- and Fighting-types such as Machoke and Krokorok reasonably hard. Flamethrower provides a secondary coverage move and adequately chips Grass- and Steel-types such as Ferroseed, Metang, Pawniard, and Servine. Roost gives Togetic the longevity it needs to consistently act as a wall throughout a game and Defog lets Togetic reliably remove hazards multiple times in a game.
---------------------
Nasty Plot: The offensive Nasty Plot Togetic set flips the switch in terms of offensive capabilities. Togetic has a good base Special Attack stat, which is further boosted by Nasty Plot. Even without specific defensive investment, Togetic is still bulky enough to tank hits and set up. Psyshock is a solid option for offensive sets, allowing Togetic to break past Mareanie, while maintaining coverage on Roselia, but also allows it to hit Pokemon such as Monferno and Haunter hard on the switch-in and beat Calm Mind users such as Clefairy.

Checks and Counters
---------------------
SpDef Defog: Defensive Togetic sets are very passive. Therefore, any reasonably bulky Pokemon with recovery such as Clefairy, Mareanie, and Roselia can wall Togetic. Defensive Togetic sets are also setup bait for lots of offensive Pokemon such as Monferno, Sliggoo, Combusken, Metang, and Klang, because even the super effective coverage moves do not hit particularly hard.
---------------------
Nasty Plot: The offensive Togetic set is harder to wall. Dusclops can tank a hit and Haze away boosts. Steel-types wall it if it's carrying Psyshock and Mareanie walls it if it's carrying Flamethrower. However, due to its low speed, it is fairly easy to revenge kill after some chip by Electric- and Steel-types attacks from the likes of Electabuzz, Metang, Pawniard, and Lairon.
