- Sludge Bomb
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Protect
Set Details: This Koffing set looks to abuse as much as possible Koffing great coverage and middling speed tier for it to serve as a breaker. Sludge Bomb is Koffing's preferred STAB move, as it does good damage against super effective targets such as Spritzee and Cottonee aswell as neutral targets like Rufflet and Mienfoo. Fire Blast allows Koffing to hit for super effective damage the likes of Foongus and Pawniard which would otherwise wall Koffing. Thunderbolt pressures Flying and Water-types such as Rufflet and Squirtle and prevents Koffing from being setup fodder to the likes of Nasty Plot Vullaby or Shell Smash Omanyte. Maximum Speed EVs and a Timid nature allow Koffing to outspeed and apply greater pressure to Pokemon such as slow Mienfoo, Dewpider and most Mudbray. Maximum Special Attack EVs are invested to get comfortable 2HKOs on Pokemon such as Pawniard, Mareanie, and Spritzee. Finally, the HP EVs enable Koffing to take advantage of its solid bulk and avoid being 2HKOed by a Flare Blitz from Ponyta. Eviolite allows Koffing to be even more tanky and helps absorbs Knock Offs from the likes of Mienfoo and Pawniard. Neutralizing Gas prevents Koffing from being trapped by the likes of Gothita, Intimidate users like Scraggy and also negates Regenerator from Pokemon like Mienfoo and Foongus.

Bulky Support (Koffing) @ Eviolite

- Sludge Bomb
- Flamethrower / Thief
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect / Toxic Spikes
Set Details: Due to Koffing's strong Defense and useful resistances, this set is lookinh for it to switch in on most Fighting-, Grass- Poison-, and Fairy-types without fear. Examples include Grookey, Spritzee, Foongus, and Mienfoo. Try to lure in Steel-types like Magnemite and Pawniard to then deliver a nasty blow with Flamethrower. It is important to try to avoid letting Koffing's Eviolite be removed by Knock Off from Pokemon such as Pawniard and Mienfoo unless absolutely necessary, since this takes away a lot of Koffing's bulk. To avoid this we can alternatively use Thief to regain an Eviolite on us by stealing it. Protect is very useful to try to avoid Koffing losing it's Eviolite in an unnecesary situation, to take some good situation like setting your own Tailwind on the field or for it to just keep being annoying with Neutralizing Gas. Toxic Spikes can be very useful for gradually wearing down the opponent's team, but make sure there are burns on physically offensive threats such as Onix or Pawniard before setting it up. Koffing's EVs are focused on defenses to get the maximum bulk possible from Eviolite. A Bold nature further bolsters Koffing's strong Defense and hits an Eviolite-optimal number.
