Basculin + Gogoat

This team was originally built around a dual Choice Band core of Basculin + Gogoat, as both of them are formidable breakers that can take care of each other's checks. However, as the team's initial version was lacking in special bulk, Gogoat was replaced with the relatively uncommon (but very effective) Assault Vest set, which can still perform its fair share of wallbreaking while also tanking some hits, especially with Tera Water. The Speed EVs allow Gogoat to outspeed Houndoom after one Trailblaze. Raichu provides plenty of opportunities to switch in with Volt Switch and Encore and can check naturally fast Pokemon like Pyroar. Nasty Plot Misdreavus can attempt to wallbreak while still fulfilling its main role as a spinblocker and burn spreader. Choice Scarf Skuntank is an effective revenge killer that can set up Toxic Spikes on forced switches early-game and absorb opposing Toxic Spikes for its teammates. Gabite is one of the best Stealth Rock setters in the metagame, and it can also check Fire- and Electric-types and perform phazing duties with Dragon Tail.
