Let me give you some transparency right now:
I spoke out against a moody quickban for now. For me 'luck' based strategies are only banworthy in the name of uncompetitiveness IF they have a significant spot in the metagame, so much that they put a big strain on teambuilding. This line absolutely has to be arbitrary otherwise we are required to ban things like serene grace, focus band, quick claw, bright powder... maybe even mod ice beam freeze out of the game? What about non 100% accurate moves? This is why we need to find a compromise between absolute competitiveness and fun/replayability, and we have been doing so since the beginning of smogon. I wanted to look at tournament stats (like the ss invitational) and get a better feeling for it myself before I decide if it is truly banworthy, as this is a decision that will be hard to reserve and I absolutely want to make the right choice. What if glalie turns out to have a 30% winratio in tournaments and is just suffering from new toy syndrome right now? I am certainly not saying that is the case, and am predicting to be pro-ban at the end of this but I need more time to see it's true place in the metagame, played by good players against good players.
