Thoughts: Excadrill is phenominal with its great offensive STABs and Rapid Spin. Sand Rush sets become the fastest Pokemon in the metagame with only Scarf Spectrier and Inteleon able to outrun Adamant variants. It has great coverage with EQ, Iron Head and Rock Slide. Mold Breaker sets can utilise Rapid Spin and alongside SD, it can become a devastating late game sweeper. Bulkier sets can also work as a Dragon or Fairy check, but those struggle with the lack of recovery.
Checks: Tapu Fini and Hippowdon are the most consistent checks due to their bulk. Latias can help against Sand Rush variants and Moltres is a good check as long as it doesn't have Rock Slide. Other than these, it can be checked offensively with faster Pokemon.
Partners: Hippowdon is an obivous partner for Sand Rush Pokemon. Tapu Bulu is a great partner for Utility or Defensive sets with Grassy Terrain, giving more recovery and weakening EQ (of course you havve to run High Horsepower on Excadrill). Bulu is also a great partner for it in the sense that you beat Fini and Hippowdon with it and Moltres gets lured and beaten by Stone Edge.
