Gladion

Crobat had a decent start with Acrobatics and Cross Poison, so I gave it Leech Life and U-turn for coverage and pivoting. Lucario's vanilla moveset is embarrassing. Z Metal Claw? Really? I made Lucario a fully special attacker, with Nasty Plot for boosting and Vacuum Wave for priority. I also gave the Z-crystal to Weavile. Z-crystals are typically given to a trainer's ace, which Lucario most certainly isn't, considering it isn't present in any of the previous fights with Gladion. Technically, Silvally and Crobat are more iconic to Gladion, but Silvally needs to hold a memory, and Crobat wants Acrobatics. Crobat also overlaps with types that other trainers use, while I don't think anyone has Icium Z. Anyway, in addition to now holding a Z-crystal, Weavile drops Metal Claw (seriously, wtf) for Ice Punch and Poison Jab. Ice Punch gives it stronger Ice STAB to abuse its Z with, and Poison Jab gives it a way to hit Primarina. Finally, Silvally. Pretend it's holding whatever Memory makes it strong against your starter. Most of Silvally's other moves in vanilla weren't very useful, especially depending on what type it ended up being. In contrast, BoltBeam is pretty much always good, and U-turn provides nice pivoting. I didn't want to lower any of Silvally's stats, so I gave it a neutral nature. Specifically, I gave it a Hardy nature to reflect how it toughed through the experiments done on it long ago.
