Altaria-mega is my favourite Pokémon of all time and I think it's very underrated! That's why I decided to try it out in the OU tier! It works as a fantastic Heatran, Charizard-mega-X and Greninja-Ash check and is a devastatingly good setupper with the right support. It also absorbs status very decently thanks to Natural Core, not being afraid of Glares from the likes of Zygarde and Serperior, while scaring them out. You'll wanna Mega Evolve only when you feel like you can sweep or if the Mega typing is better at walling the opponent's team. Generally, you'll want to mega evolve if you are burnt and keep Natural Cure otherwise. The EVs allow it to outspeed Mega Lopunny at +1 and take hits from the likes of Hydreigon, Heatran and Greninja-Ash better. Alternatively, max Speed can be run to outspeed as many threats as possible! Magnezone is the next member of the team. Scarfed to help with the slight Kartana weakness and provide more speed control to the team. It supports Altaria beautifully by getting rid of threats like Ferrothorn, Celesteela and Scizor-mega. Toxapex is the TSpiker of the team. It provides tremendous defensive value with it's amazing bulk and defensive typing. Payapa berry helps it check Psychium Z Volcarona (although it isn't as common as it once was), Psychic-type setuppers like Reuniclus and eat a hit from the likes of Medicham-mega. It's EVs allow it to outspeed 56 Speed Reuniclus and Haze before taking a Psychic. The next member is Clefable, providing defensive utility checking Dragons as well as powerful physical attackers. Its another status absorber, taking toxics for Altaria if it has Mega Evolved already. It also spreads paralysis with Thunder Wave, making it easier to get rid of threats like Kyurem-Black. It also is the rocker of the team. Scarf Landorus-T provides speed control and Defog support while also nuking walls with Explosion for Altaria. Earthquake is it's mandatory STAB. Once we get rid of Flying-types and weaken the opposing team, it becomes a reliable cleaner. Hidden Power [Ice] for the likes of Zygarde and opposing Lando-T. Ferrothorn is the Psychic check of the team. It is also our best answer to Kartana. Power Whip is for STAB, Knock Off gets rid of items to weaken walls and Leech Seed provides recovery while also pressuring the opposing team. It is another Ash-Greninja check and also provides Spikes. I built this team and had so much fun doing it as well as playing with it! I'm still laddering up (my goal is to get to top 10 with it).
