Empoleon pridefully stands ready to take on threats like Kyurem and Mega Diancie for Water teams! Flash Cannon deals with Ice- and Fairy-types such as Alolan Ninetales and Clefable. Roar phazes out omniboosting threats such as Jirachi and forces entry hazard damage on the opposing team. Stealth Rock frees a moveslot on Empoleon's teammate, Mega Swampert, and makes Empoleon's Roar less passive. Knock Off removes crucial items, particularly Heavy-Duty Boots, on the opposing team. Toxapex pairs well with Empoleon as it checks physical attackers such as Tapu Bulu and Mega Lopunny, and deals with Kommonium Z Kommo-o with Icium Z-boosted Haze. In return, Empoleon deals with Psychic- and Ice-types such as Tapu Lele and Kyurem for it. Greninja checks Kyurem offensively, and can run a plethora of sets to deal with Zapdos, Garchomp, and Tapu Bulu. Mega Swampert appreciates Empoleon's ability to come in on would-be revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Latias and ability to set Stealth Rock, as this allows Mega Swampert to run an extra coverage move such as Stone Edge for Mantine. In return, Mega Swampert provides an Electric-type immunity and obliterates Toxapex and Landorus-I under Rain. Urshifu-R deals with Steel-types such as Excadrill and Ferrothorn.
