In most games, you should lead with Fake Out from Hitmonlee to disturb whatever threatens Latios. The only exception is situations where there are two leads that Latios can't touch, such as two bulky Steel or Water/Ice types. Close Combat is your main damage dealer after the first turn as it is an exceptionally strong neutral hit. Mach Punch is essentially only for Weavile as it messes up Latios otherwise. Sucker Punch works well for facing opposing Psychic and Ghost types, especially those such as opposing Latis and Gengar which cause troublesome speed ties otherwise.

Latios @ Choice Specs

Latios is the main damage dealer of your team. Most of the time, you will either choose Psychic or Dragon Pulse depending on what the best neutral typing is based on your opponents team.  Thunderbolt is best used when you see one of those Fishermen with four Water types and you anticipate three or four super effective targets. Draco Meteor should almost never be used as 90% accuracy sucks in tower and should only be used in the most dire of circumstances.

Zapdos @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Detect
Zapdos is a good glue mon and helps to deal with the aforementioned Water and Steel types that normally trouble the team. Hidden Power Ice is optimal but if you are not able to get one it's not a huge deal, you will only use it in about 30% of your games and HP Ice would be optimal in 10% or less of these (so less than 3/100 games or so). Don't use Detect unless you are forced to as the best part of this team is its overwhelming offensive pressure. Detect is best used with Metagross's Explosion.

Metagross @ Metal Coat
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpD / 164 Spe

You will use this thing in like one out of fifty battles, it's Metagross. If you've played in battle tower before you've used this thing. The only notable synergies between Metagross and other members is its ability to soak a Draco Meteor if you lead against two Dragon types, and its ability to use Explosion to clear the field especially with Zapdos's Detect.
