---------------------
Overview: Weepinbell is one of the strongest sun sweepers in the metagame, thanks to its great movepool and solid offensive stats. However, it fails to accomplish anything outside of sun teams, which in itself is a niche playstyle, due to its poor defenses and below average speed when Chlorophyll is not active.
---------------------
Special Sun Sweeper: Growth boosts both Weepinbell's Attack and Special Attack stat by 2 stages in sun, which turns it into a threatening sweeper. Solar Beam is a strong STAB move, which only takes one turn in sun. It hits Ground- and Water-types such as Marshtomp, Krokorok, Prinplup, and Wartortle for super effective damage and hits even neutral targets hard. Sludge Bomb is a solid STAB move which hits Fairy- and Grass-types such as Servine, Clefairy, Togetic, and Tangela for super effective damage. Weather Ball gives Weepinbell a strong Fire-type coverage move under sun, letting it deal with Steel-types such as Metang and Klang, whilst also hitting Roselia hard.
---------------------
Physical Sun Sweeper: This variant of Weepinbell can break past the standard checks of the special set, such as Sliggoon and Quilladin, with Poison Jab and also has access to priority. However, it gives up a more accurate STAB Grass-type move, a stronger Poison-type move, and coverage to hit Steel-types hard.
---------------------
Checks and Counters: Special walls such as Sliggoo and Munchlax can wall the special set and either hit it with a super effective move or cripple it with paralysis. Quilladin can also wall this set thanks to Bulletproof. Alolan Grimer resists both of Weepinbell’s STAB attacks and can tank a +2 Weather Ball in sun, and hit back with a Knock Off or Clear Smog any boosts. The physical set is checked by Steel-types such as Pawniard and Klang, and physical walls like Staravia. Some Choice Scarf users such Frogadier and Monferno can outspeed Weepinbell even under sun and revenge kill it. When Weepinbell is not under sun, it is very slow. Most faster strong attackers can revenge kill it either at full or after chip if its speed is not boosted by sun.
