Made after the starter reveals for ZA and it is kinda ass. Surely they would get good megas :clueless:. Anyway emboar has the syndrome of high hp and attack, slow and terrible defenses so its hard to make work. It does have entry points against stuff like the steels, some moltres, slowking and bulkarona. Then you click flare blitz, if they have a mola: 252+ Atk Choice Band Reckless Emboar Wild Charge vs. 8 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola in Electric Terrain: 402-474 (84.9 - 100.2%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO. Koko enables that goofy strategy while providing necessary speed control and a lure for annoying grounds like landorus and gliscor. Alot of koko answers crumple to emboar conveniently as well. For those asking why not air balloon the answer is that you lose terrain boost and theres no bluff potential. Meganium desperately needs a mega to have a semblance of viability. Here it "walls" grounds and waters and leeches incoming steels and can encore set up sweepers to give set up opportunities to the better pokemon. Feraligatr is funny. If you pull off the emboar lure then gatr has a shot at cleaning. Unfortunately gatr is slower than a sack of potatoes and is outsped by every single scarfer and booster energy pokemon in the metagame. Its opportunities are slim (a weak neutral hit or a status miss) but not impossible. Treads compresses steel, rocks and removal in one slot. Special is chosen for more pivot options and a better tusk match up. Moon is the broken guy who has to carry in 99% of matches. Standard set and loves emboar/gatr breaking down steels or doing unrecoverable damage to the grounds.
