Jolteon Rain MnM

Rain in particular can make use of Jolteon very nicely as with this coverage it is very difficult for most defensive cores to switch into, and Jolteon really enjoys forcing out things that rain teams relying on Vish would normally struggle to force out offensively, such as Toxapex and various Dragon types. The cool thing about this rain team is that it plays very similar cycles to more standard BO and balance teams thanks to the Clef + Defog Corv + Manec Mew core, while Pelipper acts as one of the Excadrill checks and enables Dracovish to be both a breaker and speed control. Another benefit of Manec Mew here is that it takes up the Heal Bell slot which is so useful for maintaining Rain's matchup in longer games against Balance, which enables Clefable to run Toxic to safely deal with some "anti-cheese" options such as Demon Mew. When running Toxic Clefable it's semi-important to change the Water moves on the rest of the team from Scald, as an accidental Scald burn on Mew can be a real issue. Surf is used over Weather Ball to damage the likes of Tyranitarite Rhyperior whenever it tries to reset the weather. If Jolteon paralyses Mew with Thunder, between the para chances and Dracovish there's still a decent chance of coming out on top vs Mew. While all more offensive teams do struggle with some random matchups (in this case stuff like SD Golisopod), I feel this is the most consistent rain team I've managed to build so far which is largely down to the Jolteon idea as well as being able to fit Mew, so I thought it was interesting enough to write about
