Espathra

Espathra is one of only two Speed Boost users in the entirety of The Loser's Game. It also additionally gets Baton Pass so it can pass its speed boosts. Espathra's main edge over its pre-evolution, Flittle, is its ability to use Trick profitably due to its higher base Speed of 105. Substitute is an additional thing to Baton Pass on top of ripping out 25% of Espathra's max. HP and providing protection as usual, while Protect nigh-guarantees a speed boost by buying a turn. Espathra's movepool is barren enough that Sandstorm and defensive Trick are viable options on it. A Naive nature or Black Sludge lets Espathra get OHKOed by Gholdengo Steel Beam - thus Hasty also being viable on the non-devoted-Trick set. If Tricking Sitrus Berry, 1 HP IV makes Espathra's max. HP odd so Sitrus Berry activates as rarely as possible. Tera Dark lets Espathra always Baton Pass safely away from Pranksters, while Tera Ice makes it weak to Steel Beam and Stealth Rock.
