This one set allows Genesect to be beat much of the metagame. Bug Buzz is your primary STAB, hitting foes like Mew and Rhyperior for high damage. Ice Beam smacks Dragonite and Landorus, while Flamethrower lures opposing Genesect and other threats like Excadrill. Thunderbolt hits Water types like Gyarados. A set utilizing Douse Drive with Techno Blast can be run as a lure for Heatran and Volcarona. Extreme Speed can also be run on a non-choice set for Custap Rhyperior. Genesect is checked by most Fire types, as well as special walls like Chansey.
