Rain is a strong archetype in OU currently due to Floatzel's raw wallbreaking ability and the benefits it provides tier staples like Kingambit and Amoonguss. Pelipper sets the rain up for Floatzel and Walking Wake as well as providing both with safe switch opportunities with its slow U-turn; Tera Ground allows it to potentially lure and take out Thunderbolt Iron Valiant. Floatzel is the team's primary wallbreaker. Even without Terastallization, it is exceedingly difficult to switch into Floatzel without having a Water-immune Pokemon. Great Tusk provides the team with an Electric immunity and important entry hazard removal, keeping Pelipper healthy in longer matchups; Tera Fire a;sp gives it an immunity to burn and a resistance to Fairy. Walking Wake wallbreaks alongside Floatzel, punching holes in the opposition with rain-boosted Hydro Pump while sniping opposing Amoonguss with Hurricane; it also improves the team's matchup against sun due to Hydro Steam. Kingambit is, as it is on many teams in OU currently, the team's wincon. After Floatzel and Walking Wake have weakened the opposing team, Kingambit can easily clean up; Tera Fairy with Tera Blast also gives Kingambit a means of beating Great Tusk while improving its matchup against Roaring Moon. Amoonguss checks a multitude of Pokemon, most importantly Tera Water Garganacl, while potentially taking a foe out of the fight with Spore, something Floatzel and Walking Wake greatly appreciate. Eject Button allows it to act as a safe pivot once, keeping up momentum even when Pelipper cannot safely U-turn.
