Thoughts: While Aerodactyl might seem like a superior Pokemon due to its higher speed and better abilities, Archeops has greater power and much more options. First of, the Lead set has Endeavor to bring opponents down to low HP and Head Smash to block Defog and Spin. Choiced sets can utilise Switcheroo to cripple walls and it has the ability to run Special sets. Defeatist still sucks, but imo Archeops is better than Aerodactyl.
Checks: It has the same checks as Aerodactyl, that being Ground-types and Fini, although Fini has a harder time, tanking its hits. Ground-types still do a great job, like Hippowdon and Landorus-Therian.
Partners: Balance teams utilise it has a breaker for either the physical or the special side and HO teams can still utilise it as their lead.
