Bulky Attacker (Mudbray) @ Eviolite
Ability: Stamina
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 156 SpD / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- High Horsepower
- Heavy Slam
- Rock Slide / Roar / Close Combat
- Protect
Set Details: This set utilizes Mudbray's offensive potential, turning it into an offensive threat. Stamina is its ability of choice to punish hitting it with a +1 boost to defense, which in conjunction with Eviolite, can make it very tough to take down on the physical side. Eviolite also helps with Mudbray's special bulk. Eviolite and the SpD investment allow it to take more hits on the special side. The attack investment along with a Adamant nature allows to pick up several OHKOs such as Ponyeta with High Horsepower. The HP and Defense investment allows Mudbray to accumulate Stamina boosts easier. The speed brings Mudbray to 12 speed, which outspeeds Pokemon like Porygon and ties with Defensive Vullaby. The speed can be dropped for bulk if you don't need it too badly, such as on Trick Room teams. High Horsepower is Mudbray's main STAB move, and hits neutral targets like Mienfoo hard, despite not being super-effective. Heavy Slam hits Fairy types like Spritzee hard. Rock Slide hits Flying types like Vullaby that don't care about High Horsepower, Roar can phaze out setup sweepers like Onix and prevent Trick Room from being set, and Close Combat hits post-Roost Vullaby, along with Porygon and Pawniard, the latter of which isn't KOd by High Horsepower. Protect can help Mudbray survive longer by bringing in a teammate that can handle it's checks without suffering damage in return.

Impish Nature
- High Horsepower
- Stealth Rock / Rock Slide
- Roar / Toxic
- Protect
Set Details: This set dips into Mudbray's defensive utility, allowing it to support other pokemon like Abra and Ghastly. Eviolite and Stamina make it very bulky on the Physical side, along with the Impish nature and defense investment. and it isn't as weak on the special side thanks to the HP and SpD investment, which lets it take moves like Abra's Psychic and Ghastly's Shadow Ball. The attack EVs allow Mudbray to 2HKO Ponyeta even after a burn. High Horsepower hits the aforementioned Ponyeta, along with other Pokemon like Omanyte. Stealth Rock is one of the main reasons to use this set, as chiping Rock weak- Pokemon like Rufflet for 25% per switch can be huge in the long game. Mudbray can handle the flying types on it's own if it opts for Rock Slide over Stealth Rocks though. Roar can be used to rack up chip damage in conjuction with Stealth Rock, and also prevent set up and Trick Room. Toxic can wear down bulkier mons like opposing Mudbray and Porygon. Protect can be used for positioning or, if Toxic is used over Roar, to allow the Toxic damage to ramp up without risk.
