- Possibly the best overall check to Raikou thanks to its typing - Steel typing and gigantic physical bulk makes it a solid pivot on CB Dragonite and Tauros, and immune to Toxic. - Distinguishes itself from Registeel with its access to Roar and STAB on EQ that does more damage to Raikou, Omastar, Qwilfish, and Registeel itself, appreciated by offesnive inclined teams. - Very crippling weaknesses and compete a lot with Registeel still, which already checks most of the same things as Steelix while checking a lot more like Regice, Alakazam, Vaporeon, Lanturn, Jynx, etc.
