Overview: With access to Moxie and good offensive STAB attacks, Krokorok is a reasonably good Choice Scarf user which can steamroll into a big threat and clean late-game. It is also one of the better Haunter and Kadabra trappers in the metagame thanks to STAB Pursuit. However, Krokorok's poor bulk makes it more difficult to clean.
---------------------
Choice Scarf: The Choice Scarf Krokorok set can outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, including notable threats such as Electabuzz, Frogadier, Haunter and Kadabra. Knock Off is a fantastic STAB move which cripples Eviolite users such as Clefairy, Servine, Prinplup and Gloom who typically switch into Krokorok. It also hits Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Haunter, Misdreavus, Duosion and Metang for super effective damage. Pursuit traps or chips Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Haunter, Kadabra, Misdreavus and Metang. Earthquake is another great STAB attack, which hits Electric-, Fire-, Poison- and Steel-types such as Electabuzz, Alolan Grimer, Mareanie, Magmar, Metang and Pawniard hard. Stone Edge is a decent coverage move, which mainly hits Flying-types such as Staravia and Togetic on the switch-in.
---------------------
SpDef Rocks: This specially defensive Krokorok set can switch into and Pursuit trap Haunter and Kadabra. It also offers good role compression for teams which require a Stealth Rock setter, Volt Switch immunity and Haunter and Kadabra trapper in one slot. Dazzling Gleam from Haunter and Kadabra fails to 2HKO this set. It can also tank one Focus Blast from any Electabuzz set and revenge kill non-Eviolite variants of Electabuzz.
---------------------
Checks & Counters: Bulky Fairy- and Grass-types such as Clefairy, Servine, Quilladin, Togetic and Gloom can easily switch into Krokorok and threaten it out. Bulky Water-types such as Prinplup, Marshtomp and Wartortle can easily withstand all of the Krokorok’s attacks but do not appreciate losing their Eviolite. Bulkier Machoke sets can easily tank any hit from Krokorok and OHKO it.
