Farewell Mega Altaria

The team revolves around Altaria-mega, an underrated balance breaker in OU. Cotton Guard allows Altaria to eat hits from the likes of Mega Lopunny and Landorus-T, while Facade allows it to repeatedly switch into Scald users like Toxapex. In alternative to Cotton Guard, Flamethrower can be used to pick up the OHKO on Kartana. Magnezone and Azumarill is my favourite core at the moment, providing trapping support with Perish Song and Magnet Pull, getting rid of annoyances like Toxapex and Celesteela for Altaria, while providing a surprisingly sturdy defensive core. Specially defensive Excadrill is a fantastic Tapu Koko check and provides Stealth Rock support as well as hazard control for Altaria before mega evolution. Figy is the item of choice to give Excadrill more survivability. Protean Greninja (male, so we can bluff the Ash) with Groundium Z lures Toxapex and dishes out good chip damage against common balance cores like Tangrowth + Tapu Fini or Rotom + Tornadus-T, while providing Spikes for Altaria. Lastly, Landorus-T is the glue for the team, providing momentum via U-Turn for Magnezone and Azumarill and giving the team some speed control. Hidden Power [Ice] is for Garchomp and Defog is a great utility option.
