Although last month’s OU TOTW showed the team that marked the popularity of hail's launching point in OU, this month’s edition explores a similarly popular team that takes a much more offensive take on the archetype built by OU councilman and current WCoP champion Ox the Fox. This team uses Choice Specs Volcanion as its primary breaker to rip apart opposing defensive cores that can be inconvenient for Arctozolt, applying unrelenting pressure against Ferrothorn, Heatran, Melmetal, Swampert, and non-Storm Drain Gastrodon while simultaneously having the ability to punish potential Steam Eruption switch-ins such as Tapu Bulu and Urshifu-R with debilitating status. Tornadus-T is utilized as a speedy offensive pivot that maintains the tempo of the match using U-turn and its good Speed tier. Thanks to Assault Vest, it also has the ability to check special threats that otherwise apply too much pressure to Landorus-T such as Dragapult. Furthermore, it provides an option to check and revenge kill threats such as Kartana and even opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp with an Ice-type Weather Ball. Lastly, since this team is very weak to Stealth Rock, it is reinforced with a Defog core of Corviknight and Landorus-T, both of which are very reliable removal options that can also blanket check a wide range of the metagame with their great type synergy while providing momentum to enable Arctozolt and Volcanion. This removal core, while greatly aiding Volcanion and maximizing its wallbreaking opportunities, also provides removal support for Tornadus-T and Alolan Ninetales, which are similarly inconvenienced by Stealth Rock.
