Incineroar's utility movepool and useful Fire/Dark typing may land it a spot as a check to Prankster and Imprison users. It can switch into Whimsicot and Sabeleye on their Taunt and Encore attempts and Taunt them back in return. It can also phaze out Imprison users like Sabeleye and Galarian Rapidash thanks to Roar. Parting Shot is a unique way to pivot so that Incineroar may pivot behind a Substitute while the switch in may still go for Substitute itself. Incineroar's low Speed makes it vulnerable to be trapped from Gothitelle, and its lack of KOing covering makes it vulnerable to Trick. This makes it have competition with faster Dark types like Weavile and Galarian Linoone.
