Notes: ~Bulky Eviolite Metang is a bulky tank pokemon that can not only take several hits but can also dish out some decent damage and set up stealth rocks as well. With its defense being one of the highest in the tier, it can tank hits from Pokemon such as Extreme Evoboosted Eevee, 3HKO'd Max Attack Vigoroth with only Return/ Frustration (this is just to show bulk, it cannot counter +6 defense Vigoroth), and is even almost all the time 3HKO'd by a banded Monferno with Close Combat. Being a steel type, it resists plenty. Works well with Pokemon such as bulky water types, Bulky dragon types, and also works well with teams weak to Fairy and/or Poison-type moves, or in other words, teams containing Servine, Combusken, Gurdurr, etc.
~Speedy Eviolite Metang is a less hard-hitting version of Attacking Metang, but with a twist; speed. Max speed allows it to outspeed most walls and tanks, including not max-speed Pignite, Machoke, and others. However, due to it lacking a little more in offensive bulk it has a harder time hitting opposing Pokemon with a significant amount of damage. The decrease in Attack Evs does not make it unsuitable for offensive measures, its 75 Attack stat is still decent on its own, dealing up to a third of Defog Togetic's HP with Meteor Mash, or even 2HKO's Electabuzz with Earthquake.
~Banded Metang, while not fulfilling the bulk of Eviolite Metang, brings about a hard-hitting Pokemon capable of doing significant damage to its opponents. It hits Gloom, Togetic, and Clefairy hard and takes down fire/Fighting switch-ins with ease, OHKO'ing with Zen Headbutt. It's priority STAB move, Bullet Punch also helps to hit faster Pokemon, such as Haunter and Frogadier, and perhaps KO'ing them, however Metang's banded Bullet Punch can not normally OHKO, and due to it's lacking in bulk, get's OHKO'd by faster mons instead, such as Shadow Ball from Haunter, Dark Pulse from Frogadier, or Shadow Ball from sashed Kadabra. Banded Metang, while packing a punch, requires a lot of caution. It fits well on teams needing a Togetic, Clefairy or gloom counter, as Banded Metang take them down easily.
Checks and Counters: ~Fire Types and opposing Bulky waters take steel hits from Metang like it's nothing, and can strike back with either a powerful Fire attack or attempt to scald, or set up stealth rocks. It is also vulnerable to Pursuit trappers, as well as knock off users. (Counters are the same for both speedy and attacking Metang)
~Bulky water pokemon are the main counter to banded Metang, taking hits from it like a sponge. It is also easily OHKO'd, or at least given significant damage from, pursuit trappers, knock off users, or other supereffective hits.

Other Options: On Eviolite Metang, Hammer Arm is an option over Stealth Rock as a means of countering Dark-type switch-ins, however, this does force you to lose one of your means of bulky stealth rock set-up.
