Note: Electabuzz is one of the two fastest non-scarfed pokemons in the current metagame, sporting that quality 105 base speed. Thunderbolt and Volt Switch for STAB moves, Focus Blast hits Krokorok and Ground/Rock types hard, while Grass hits all other ground types hard and Ice is great for Dragons. Psychic hits the Poison/Grass types that resists Volt Switch, as well as Fighting types, primarily Hakamo-o which isn't hit hard by Volt Switch.

Checks & Counters: Bulky Grass types with no secondary Poison typing, like Quilladin and Ferroseed, can have a field day with Electabuzz, although Volt Switch makes it a bit difficult. Bulky ground types like Mudbray and Hippopotas. Marshtomp is also a hardcounter to non-Hp Grass variants. Chinchou is the ultimate hardcounter, with Volt Absorb and decent bulk. 

Other Options: Choice Scarf or Choice Specs can also work pretty well, even a slightly bulkier Eviolite set can work. Going on the Physical side of the spectrum, Electabuzz has ok stats and decent movepool, but Volt Switch is generally just worth more.
